Training

Wilton CERT is dedicated to disaster preparedness and traffic management, offering a variety of training opportunities to the its members and the greater Wilton community.  These classes are taught by experienced CERT members, Police & Fire personnel, our Wilton Volunteer Ambulance Corps, and other state and regional experts.  Wilton CERT trains for:

* Traffic and Pedestrian Management for Town events

* Detours and road closures due to accidents or bad weather

* Shelter management

Once a year Wilton CERT offers a series of Disaster Preparedness Training Classes.  Citizens are invited to become trained to help family, friends and neighbors in the event of an emergency or disaster.  Classes certified by the Connecticut Division of Emergency Management and Homeland Security are taught in 7 different classes, including:

*Disaster Preparedness                         *Search and Rescue

*Disaster Medical Operations              *Disaster Psychology

*CERT Organization                              *Terrorism

*Fire Safety

Upon completion interested participants may become members of Wilton CERT.
